50% Discount on Traffic Fines | Motorists in four emirates of the UAE have been given a generous National Day gift with a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines as part of special initiatives to mark the UAE’s 53rd National Day. These discounts aim to ease financial burdens and encourage residents to settle their fines while promoting road safety.
Fujairah
Fujairah Police announced that motorists can enjoy the discount starting December 2 for a period of 53 days. The offer is valid for traffic violations committed before December 1 and includes the cancellation of vehicle impoundments and traffic black points. However, it excludes serious violations.
Ras Al Khaimah
In Ras Al Khaimah, the 50 per cent discount will be available from December 1 to December 31, covering violations committed before December 1. Serious traffic offences are not included in this initiative, as stated by the Ras Al Khaimah Police in an advisory posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Umm Al Quwain
Umm Al Quwain Police also joined the initiative, offering a 50 per cent discount from December 1, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This decision applies to violations recorded before December 1, 2024, and, like Fujairah, includes the cancellation of vehicle impoundments and traffic black points. Serious violations remain excluded from the offer.
Authorities in Umm Al Quwain have encouraged motorists to take advantage of this opportunity to settle fines and ensure compliance with traffic rules. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to enhance road safety and improve customer satisfaction.
Ajman
Ajman Police had already announced a similar initiative earlier, providing a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines from November 4 to December 15, 2024. The discount applies to violations committed before October 31.
Key Notes for Motorists
While this initiative offers significant financial relief, motorists must note that serious traffic violations are excluded across all emirates. Authorities have emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws to maintain road safety and prevent future penalties.
Residents are urged to seize this opportunity to clear outstanding fines and contribute to a safer and more responsible driving culture in the UAE.
