As part of its efforts to attract talent and investment, Bahrain introduced a golden permanent residency visa on Monday.
It has traditionally been the case that foreigners who work in Gulf states are only allowed to stay for a short time, limited by the validity of their visas.
It will be possible to work in Bahrain, enter and exit the country without restriction, and have close relatives residing in Bahrain with the Golden Residency Visa, which was announced by the Interior Ministry.
In a statement, Bahrain’s government said the visa was created to attract entrepreneurs, investors, and highly talented individuals.
As part of the Economic Recovery Plan, the country has implemented a series of economic reforms and initiatives.
Residents of Bahrain must have lived there for at least five years and earned at least BHD2000 ($5,306) per month to qualify for the visa.
