How the Parking System Works
Entry and Exit
When a vehicle enters a paid parking zone, a camera captures its plate number. The Salik system processes this image, identifies the Salik account associated with the plate number, and records the entry time. Upon exit, the system calculates the total parking time and deducts the fee from the Salik account.
Requirement of Salik Tag
To use the parking facilities, an activated Salik tag and account are mandatory.
Grace Period
Dubai Mall offers a grace period for free parking:
- Weekdays: Up to 4 hours
- Weekends (Friday to Sunday): Up to 6 hours
Handling Parking Fees
Insufficient Salik Balance
If your Salik account lacks sufficient balance when parking at Dubai Mall, your account will reflect a pending transaction. The fee will be deducted once you recharge your Salik account.
Notification of Free Hours Expiry
Currently, motorists do not receive SMS notifications before the free hours are over. It is advisable to regularly monitor your Salik account balance.
Disputing Parking Fees
If you wish to dispute the parking fees, you can email customerservice@salik.ae or contact 800-Salik. Alternatively, you can visit one of the Salik customer happiness centers.
Purchasing Salik Tags
Salik tags can be purchased online through the Salik website, via Careem Quick, or at petrol stations across the UAE.
Paying for Parking at Other Malls
Currently, Salik balance can only be used for parking fees at Dubai Mall. There is no information available regarding its use at other locations.
Separate Payment Methods
Parking fees at Dubai Mall are exclusively deducted from the Salik account associated with the vehicle. Separate payment methods are not available.
Maximum Parking Fee Limit
Parking fees at Dubai Mall reach a maximum limit of Dh1,000 for 24-hour parking. Vehicles parked beyond this period may be reported to authorities like Dubai Police.
Parking Fines Payment
Pending parking transactions will automatically be deducted once your Salik account is recharged. Violations for overstaying beyond 24 hours can be addressed through the relevant authorities, such as Dubai Police.
Consolidated Report
A consolidated report will be provided, showing both toll and parking transactions, segregated in different sections within the same report.
