This route is also popular with residents of Sharjah, Dubai (especially those closer to Sharjah), and other northern emirates, who can access it via Mleiha Road. From Mleiha Road, there are two main routes to Oman:

To visit Khasab town in Musandam, UAE residents can use the Al Darrah border crossing from Ras Al Khaimah. This route requires an Oman visa and is a short 35 km drive from Ras Al Khaimah.

Checkpoints and Border Procedures
Hatta Route:
About 500 meters before the Oman border, you’ll see a “Leaving Hatta” sign indicating your first checkpoint is near. At this UAE checkpoint, security personnel will ask for the car’s registration card and passports of all travelers. The exit fee of Dh35 must be paid here.
Following this, you’ll reach the Oman border for passport control. Travelers might need to exit their vehicles and enter the building for passport stamping and Emirates ID checks. At the final checkpoint, officials may inspect your vehicle before you proceed into Oman.
