At Comic-Con, Marvel teases new Avengers movies and a sequel to ‘Black Panther’

This presentation was just one part of Hall H, which also included first looks at:

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

as well as new information about Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which concludes with two Avengers movies in 2025: ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.

Ryan Coogler, director of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, previews the highly anticipated film in San Diego. This will be the conclusion of Phase 4 and due in theaters on Nov. 11.  In August 2020, Chadwick Boseman passed away. Coogler paid tribute to him.

Coogler said that he left a lasting impression on this industry.

Plans for a sequel were quickly made after ‘Black Panther’ was a massive success in 2018. The plans were altered after Boseman unexpectedly died of colon cancer. As far as Boseman’s role of T’Challa is concerned, the studio will not recast it. It has been years since the film was released, but little has been heard about it. Letitia Wright, who portrays T’Challa’s brainy sister Shuri, sustained an injury during production, which caused several delays. Daniel Kaluuya, whose ‘Nope’ schedule clashed with Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett will not return.

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is scheduled to premiere in February 2024, followed by ‘Thunderbolts’ in July 2024, according to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. A new version of ‘Blade,’ starring Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali, will be released on Nov. 3, 2023, while ‘Captain America and the New World Order,’ featuring Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, will arrive on May 3, 2024.

May marks the end of Phase 5 of “Guardians of the Galaxy.”. James Gunn announced that ‘Vol3’ would be the last installment of the space rogues. A number of actors are returning for the film, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillian, and Dave Bautista.  Maria Bakalova and Will Poulter join the cast as Guardians antagonists Adam Warlock and Adam Warlock.

The cast of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ travelled to San Diego to show some footage.
