Philippine island Luzon was struck by a powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said. Tremors were felt in many areas, including Manila.
The quake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles) with no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Approximately 11 kilometers (six miles) east-southeast of the town of Dolores in Abra province lies the epicentre of the earthquake.
