Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum house is an ancient building and historical former house quarters of Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai in UAE. This former residential building is located in Al Shindagha area along Dubai Creek. Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum house was established near 1896 as the station of Al Maktoum family.

The building of this house is now using as a museum which contains images and artifacts of ancient town of Dubai. The showpieces are distributed into 9 wings that are as follows:

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum house was built as a safe zone residential place of the ruler of Dubai in UAE. This building was remained Sheikh’s residency till his death in 1958. The total area of the building is 3600sqm. The building is also the birth place of sons and grandsons of Sheikh.

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum house is among the oldest and historical building of the city, one of the famous piece in Dubai’s history. Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum was former ruler of Dubai from 1912 to 1958, He was the grandfather of the current ruler of Dubai ‘ H.H Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’.

How to get there:

The house is near Dubai Heritage village so you can get there by hiring a cab or taking the metro or bus. Al Ghubaiba stop is nearest of this destination then you can walk for 10 min.

Timings:

The time you should plan to spend there is approximately 30 mints to 1 hour for roaming the room s and the skyline top tower. This house is open from Sunday to Thursday from 8am to 8:30 Pm. On Fridays from 3pm to 9:30pm. The best time to visit there is evening time when the house will be cooler and you can enjoy the sun set view as well.
