In the last few weeks, project milestone announcements have intensified, with the highlight being the 256km railway link between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. On a train ride, passengers would travel through the desert, through cities, and over tunnels that cut through the Al Hajar mountains.
In addition to connecting 11 cities and regions in the UAE, the passenger trains will also serve Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dahiyan, and Abu Dhabi. Over 36.5 million passengers are expected to use it annually by 2030.

The Etihad Rail – Infotainment systems, charging stations, and food and beverage options will be available on the trains. Coaches will be swanky and interiors will be stylish. The seats will be comfortable and there will be plenty of legroom. The seats will be arranged in a 2+2 configuration. An “advanced air-conditioning system” will be used to cool the coaches.
Over 400 people can be seated in each train, and the trains will travel at speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour.
